Statement condemning the Thai military for the destruction of Ta Krabey Temple
On 9 December 2025, the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts issued a statement solemnly condemning the destructive attacks carried out by the Thai military against Ta Krabey Temple, a sacred cultural site of Cambodia.
The Ministry views this reprehensible act as reflecting profound immorality and demonstrating a blatant disregard for culture, civilization, and the sacred heritage that forms part of humanity’s shared legacy. The Ministry called upon all national and international bodies, particularly UNESCO, the ASEAN community, relevant institutions, organizations, and all individuals dedicated to heritage protection, to unequivocally condemn these actions and to urge the Thai military to cease all acts of destruction immediately. The statement noted that national and international intervention is urgently required, as the Thai military has continued indiscriminate attacks on multiple locations, including both civilian areas and heritage sites.
